Restaurants

McCall offers a wide range of dining choices whether you're looking for comfort food, a quick bite or an elegant meal. Just a few of our favorites:

Got a taste for Sushi? McCall's Sushibar overlooking Payette Lake is the hottest ticket in town with an intelligent menu focusing on healthy lifestyles and a solid selection of microbrews on tap. At this end of town the deck fills up fast so arrive early for an early evening bite of McCall!

The Shore Lodge - is a locals and visitors favorite for elegant dining at the Narrow's Restaurant, lighter fare at Emma's Cafe and The Lounge for appetizers and refreshments. Rupert's at the Hotel McCall offers a perfect combination of fine Northwest cuisine in a totally relaxed setting and the service is always excellent.

George and Bonnie Bertram have made the Pancake House a McCall landmark. The massive log structure - and the meals - are astronomical in size. No one has a finer petunia display.

For special occasions in McCall and a memorable experience, our #1 pick is the Blue Moon Outfitters. Proprietor Lisa Whisnant operates a yurt in Ponderosa Park and serves outrageous, multiple course meals inspired by her culinary talents and world travels. Lisa can accommodate up to 26 diners who she meets in the parking lot at Ponderosa State Park-and takes them on a one mile journey to the yurt on snowshoes or cross country skis. Make reservations well in advance at 208.634.3111.

Evening Rise proprietor, Corey McDonald, is a master of artisan bread off the beaten path at 303 Sunset Street. No finer bread exists anywhere from the ciabatta to the whole grain. Evening Rise also operates a lunch time deli for "East Coast deli-style" sandwiches (i.e. Dagwoods) and the line is out the door. Learn more about Evening Rise in a recent McCall Magazine article. Pizza is mmm mmm good in McCall. Crusty's Pizza at 214 Lenora Street has outside dining and GREAT pizza, Italian food and live music. Hometown Pizza on 3rd Street offers a good take and bake option while Toll Station Pizza & Pasta at 409 Railroad Avenue and its deck overlooking Payette Lake is a popular summer dining venue.

The very cool Bistro 45 in the courtyard of the Hotel McCall is usually rocking with good food, good spirits and good conversation and was mentioned in a recent article about McCall in the New York Times.

While in the Marina District a stop at Mountain Java is always a treat for a leisurely latte or locally baked goods. For a quick espresso on the run, Wild River Java on 3rd Street provides efficient, drive up service and the wildly popular Junga Juice offerings.

Donnelly's Flight of Fancy is the ultimate stop for espresso, traditional Finnish baked goods - from family recipes - pies, cookies, boxed lunches and the list goes on and on. Everything is just outrageous.

Locals arrive early at The McCall Farmer's Market. From early summer through early fall local merchants offer fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods, nursery stock and hanging baskets every Wednesday and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. The Market is located between Gravity Sports and Amerititle.

Shopping

McCall merchants are known for their warm welcome and casual, friendly atmosphere. Just a few of our favorites:

Razzle Dazzle is adeptly named for its dizzying array of gifts, home and garden décor as well as goods produced by area crafters and artists. Lynne Lawless, proprietor, is usually on hand to answer questions and help you order the store's number one seller, reproduction posters made from wood or tin. Razzle Dazzle is located in the heart of the Marina District at 503 Pine Street, adjacent to Gravity Sports.

Your visit to the Marina District is not complete without a stop at Mountain Monkey Business for distinctive home décor, clothing and fine gifts and a latte at Mountain Java next door which also carries the largest assortment of cookbooks you'll find in McCall.

Gravity Sports helps you go outside and play with the expertise and strong service orientation of owners Michelle and Scott Reagan. A full service bike and sports shop that sells and rents road and mountain bikes, flat-water boats, camping and hiking gear, skateboards, skis, snowshoes, and apparel, Gravity Sports is located at 503 Pine Street across from Legacy Park.

On the subject of sporting goods, Hometown Sports is owned by Dean Hovdey and Patty Boydstun-Hovdey. Dean has serious experience in the ski industry while Patty, who was born and raised in McCall, is a former Olympian. The business reflects the unique local knowledge and expertise you need to find just the right equipment and gear. Hometown Sports is located at 300 Lenora Street.

Bella Kitchen is McCall's only gourmet kitchen shop. Bella enjoys strong local support and is a delight to visitors to McCall. Proprietors Lisa and John Wood brought 34 years of the food and beverage industry with them when they opened Bella Kitchen six years ago-and it shows!

The new McCall Pet Outfitters and Supply located at 200 Lenora Street in McCall has quickly become a favorite one stop shop for pet food, pet treats, dog beds, literature, and everything else you might need. John Corcoran is a walking encyclopedia of good advice and training tips.
